The crunch of the leaves, the faint smell of pumpkin beverages filling the air, Autumn is officially upon us. Bring on: cosy nights on the sofa with our furpals, endless satisfied cuddle purrs and plenty of hot chocolate to go around. Absolute bliss in my eyes.
Here’s what we’ve been loving this month:
When Harry Met Sally (1989)
There’s something about when the weather drops below 15 degrees, I have to sit down with a bowl of freshly popped popcorn and watch When Harry met Sally. Cosy, heartfelt and, at times, laugh out loud funny (we’re talking about the deli scene – if you know, you know), this classic film is an Autumn must-watch.
Cat collar by Niaski
When the word ‘feline’ meets ‘fine art’ my interest is automatically piqued. These beautiful collars will win over any cat lover – gift for a pal? Payday treat to self? I think I’ll choose one for Lenny (my ginger stripy boy) and stow it away for his Christmas present.
Gambling Kittens T-shirt
Everpress is a haven of funky independent creatives creating gorgeous (and sometimes hilarious) tshirts. Gambling Kittens of course caught my eye. Whack it over a roll neck thermal as the temperature drops and keep those work from home cool vibes.
Champagne Coupe – IKEA
Did someone say chic kitchenware on a budget? Hell yes! IKEA is coming through (again) with these timeless glasses at only £10 for four. These elegant vessels would be perfect for a cocktail night with the pals, a lovely dinner party soirée or just to sup from whilst cooking something for a bit longer on a Sunday. Autumn means cute inside get togethers, something a picnic just cannot nail.
The Little Book of Hygge
Some people have said Hygge is dead, but for me, as soon as the rain clouds come in and the leaves start turning to glorious shades of orange, I dust my copy off. A literal hug in a book – The Little Book of Hygge is the Danish way to live well. A sanctuary of advice to live a life of ultimate cosiness, I recommend getting a cup of hot tea, a blanket and snuggling up to (what I deem) the world’s most comforting book;
“So, to all introverts out there – do not feel embarrassed or boring for being a person who prefers things that are hygge. And to all extroverts: light some candles, put on some soothing music and embrace your inner introvert, just for the night”.
