This weekend it was time to sit down with Dimitris and learn all about their Saturday morning with their ‘amazing little devil’ Diego.
Describe the amazing Diego to us and how you came to meet.
Diego is a 4-year-old Domestic Shorthair. I saw him on a Facebook post from a local nursery actually, and immediately fell in love with his eyes. And now he lives with me in Greenwich whilst I work from home as a software developer. We get to spend lots of time together. Sometimes I call him Tractor, cos it’s exactly how he sounds when he purrs.
Ahh, so you really get to be a full-time cat parent! How do your Saturday mornings together look, after a week full of working from home?
I usually get to wake up to the most wonderful meows as Diego gets hungry. He usually comes to bed and tries to wake us up so we can play. I love the weekends as I get to spend that bit of extra time with him, as well as making time to do some house chores and get organised.
If you were treating yourself or Diego over the weekend, what would you choose?
For me, it’s always brunch with friends. The perfect weekend treat, good food and coffee. For Diego, usually I will get him a new cat toy if it’s his turn for a treat.
Sounds like you two really are besties. Have you always been such a cat person?
I liked cats when I was young but always preferred dogs. When I actually did some cat sitting for a friend of mine, I realised just how wonderful cats are and how much I love how silly they can be. Strange little creatures.
Now you have your very own feline, have you noticed Diego lives by any sort of routine?
Eat – Sleep – Repeat. That’s literally it!
A typical cat, we love it. Are they any sneaky snacks Diego gets to enjoy that he maybe shouldn’t?
Sometimes on a rare occasion he gets a little bit of cheese.
He sounds like he’s living the life. Do you have any other cool cat-person things in your home?
Oh, he certainly is. He has four cat trees all to himself! They’re probably the most obvious cat person things I own, he’s spoiled for choice.
Oh wow, Diego’s got it good. Despite that, is there anything he truly hates with a passion?
Collars – he won’t have any of it, he’s a free man.
