Does my cat know I love them?

Although cats are known for their aloof personalities and fierce individuality, they seem to have gotten pretty used to us humans pandering after them. But do they know how much we really love them?

Our favourite little sass pots might act nonchalant, but cats and humans have lived together for centuries and often form deep, loving bonds. So are there any signs that cats know we love them deeply?

Cats show us affection in many different ways. And surely if they’re loving us right back they must know how we feel about them?! Slow blinks, relaxed body language, showing their belly, purring, and a happy swishy tail are all excellent signs your cat is thoroughly comfortable in your presence. If your furball is particularly attention-seeking, then we’re almost certain that love is requited. Cats will rub around your ankles, mark you with their scent and even knead little biscuits on you to show their affection, which surely goes to show they’re feeling the love from their human.

Cats might not admit it like we do, but they sense the good love vibes and are clearly happy to stick around. You could argue that they only stay for the free meals and cosy blankets, and that may be true. But deep down, those curious little kittens feel the love and warmth of their favourite person and must know just how much we love having them around!
