We sat down with Ange over coffee to learn all about her life with Lenny, aka LTB.
First of all, we love the name Lenny! Tell us more about how he came to be yours?
Lenny came to us as a kitten. He was from a work colleague of mine and we couldn’t resist getting him as a gift for our daughter. He’s grown into a big 4 year old ginger Tom and lives with us now in Derbyshire. We love him.
Does Lenny have any nicknames at all?
LTB – Lenny The […naughty word] – which was a name given to him by his vet. And then, more recently, Derek (don’t ask why).
What does a typical Saturday look like in your household?
Breakfast first, which totally depends on the day but some weeks it might be fresh fruit or cereal, or other weeks we put some of those frozen croissants in the oven to have a pastry. My husband always makes me a delicious coffee. Then I’ll usually move on to the ironing, boring but has to be done. Then maybe a walk if the weather is good and back home to make some bread (I absolutely love making focaccia). In the evening we’ll open some wine, usually French red and make dinner.
If you had £5 to spare over the weekend, what would be your little treat?
Maybe some flowers, or put it towards dinner and buy some really nice steak, or scallops … or maybe red wine.
Do you have any Saturday anthems to go alongside dinner?
Usually anything by Prince or The Prodigy – we’re quite an eclectic household.
So more about Lenny, does he live life to any kind of schedule?
Oh absolutely his own. Lenny lives life by his own rules, on his own terms. We are simply his servants.
Would you consider yourself a cat person, and if so what’s the coolest cat person thing you own?
Oh hell yes! It’s all about the cats. Amongst other things (artwork, mugs etc) we do have a cat castle which is pretty cool. Lenny, of course, never uses it. Typical.
Is there anything Lenny hates with a passion?
Absolutely – the Vets. Where else do you think LTB got his name?!
