Saturday Morning Coffee with Faye

Tell us the story of Ollie, how did you guys meet?

I used to foster cats from my local charity – Ollie was adopted at 14 weeks old but was quickly returned as he didn’t get on well with the other cat at that household. I saw it as a sign – so he came to live with me and my husband.

Have you always loved cats?

Of course, my entire life I’ve worked very closely with cats and various cat charities and shelters (even though my day job is in entertainment PR). I managed to foster 25 cats over a 3 year period. My actual dream is to work for cat charities full time. Even when I was younger I was cat obsessed. I once took my mum’s tape recorder and went up and down the street recording all the street cats purring.

What’s your typical Saturday morning routine?

First things first I absolutely have to feed Ollie – he won’t let me get anything done without his breakfast. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not a vocal cat (which I find very weird as I’ve always had super vocal cats) but he has these gorgeous wide eyes so he simply has to look at me and I’ll abide. I’ll then make a coffee and head back to bed and stick on a podcast for some ‘me time’.

What’s your Saturday anthem?

Stick on anything 80s pop and I’ll have a boogie!

What’s the coolest cat person thing you have in your house?

One of my friends went on holiday to Costa Rica and brought me back a little wooden cat which is actually a secret trinket box – she filled it with a note and some shells from the local beach and it is such a treasure in my home.
